What is Digitisation?
Here's a basic definition:
It is the Shift from an analogue form to a digital form. As simple as that.
Let me give you an example.
Before, cameras would make use of roll films on which the pictures would appear. The rolls would then be developed into photograph in a physical form to be stored whereas now, photos are taken directly from the camera or a photo and we can simply send it via usb cable or bluetooth to our laptop.

EASE OF TAKING PHOTOS
Photography used to be mainly for people who could afford to get a family picture during ancient time. Now, anyone can take a picture. All you need is a smart phone or if you are really into taking picture, a camera.
For instance, family pictures can be now taking easily without the need of a professional photograph. A simple selfie can be taken to capture precious moments.

MASS AMATEURISM: THE NEW PHASE OF PHOTOGRAPHY
As people are now able to afford such devices, This has lead to mass-amateurism which consists of photographs of decent quality being taken by non-professionals.
More and more new devices are emerging to fit the style of every type of photographer. For example: for aerial photography, photographs can make use of a drone rather than spending all his money to go on a helicopter. A person can do underwater shooting with a simple go-pro which is waterproof.

Editing and Manipulation

Examples of some famous softwares and apps are:

Photoshop Express

A picture of me with and without edit. The edit was done on my phone with an app called VSCO. This shows editing has become so easy to modify an image to make it better.
